The 4th China-CEEC Publishing Association Forum Held in Beijing
The 4th China-CEEC Publishing Association Forum was held on September 15th in Beijing with the aim of implementing 2021 Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries Beijing List of Activities. Participants attended the forum in person or via video link.
Themed “Deepening Publishing Cooperation and Mutual Benefit, Promoting Cultural Exchanges and Mutual Learning”, this year’s event discussed topics including cultural translation, educational publishing and international cooperation in children’s publishing. It deeply discussed how, through exchanges and cooperation, the publishing industry, writers and translators can promote people-to-people and cultural exchanges, cross-cultural understanding and mutual learning among civilizations between China and central and Eastern European countries .
This forum is sponsored by Beijing Foreign Studies University, China-CEEC Association of Publishing Houses, and undertaken by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press and China Books Import and Export (Group) Co., Ltd. About 600 people attended the forum, including relevant responsible comrades of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, Special Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for China-CEEC Cooperation, representatives of CEEC envoys in China, representatives of Beijing Foreign Studies University, representatives of alliance member units, and representatives of the publishing industry.
China-CEEC Publishing Association was officially established in August 2018 with Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press as the secretariat. There are currently 52 member units, involving more than 100 publishing houses, covering 13 Central and Eastern European countries.
